In brief

The SOL Foundation assists Young Achievement Sports for Development with the implementation of a specific programme that uses sport as a tool to reach out to young people and help them focus on their school work in a non-formal way and thereby maximising and ensuring that the students remains excited about their school work.

The programme is implemented in a rural set up, an area that was affected by cyclone Idai in Zimbabwe in 2019.

Problem to be tackled

The aftermath of a cyclone normally leaves a generation that might struggle to meet the expectation of being part of the mainstream society and Young Achievement Sports for Development seeks to ensure that it bridges the gap between survivors of the cyclone and the rest of the community.
